Kaylee McKeown Triumphs in Paris: A Swimming Dynasty

Kaylee McKeown proved unbeatable in the women's 100-meter backstroke at the Paris Olympics, outpacing world record holder Regan Smith of the United States. Smith led initially but couldn't maintain her advantage, as McKeown surged ahead to finish in 57.33 seconds.

McKeown's victory adds a fourth gold to her Olympic tally, having swept the backstroke events and earning a relay gold in Tokyo. ''It's one race at a time,'' she said after her win. Meanwhile, the U.S. contingent settled for silvers in multiple events, including the men's 800 freestyle and 4x200 freestyle relay.

The event also saw Daniel Wiffen secure Ireland's first swimming gold since 1996, and the British men's team successfully defending their 4x200 relay title. Léon Marchand of France is set for a demanding double final in the 200 butterfly and 200 breaststroke.
