The ICC announced on Tuesday that the Women's T20 World Cup will be relocated to the United Arab Emirates because of the ongoing unrest in Bangladesh. This turmoil follows the ouster of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
Originally planned to take place in Bangladesh from October 3 to 20, the event will now be held in Dubai and Sharjah.
ICC Chief Executive Geoff Allardice expressed regret over the relocation, stating, 'It is a shame not to be hosting the Women's T20 World Cup in Bangladesh as we know the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) would have staged a memorable event.'
