Jessica Naz Sidelined: ACL Injury Strikes Again
Tottenham forward Jessica Naz is out for the season after tearing her ACL during a match. This follows her previous 18-month absence due to a similar injury. The club supports her recovery. Other players, including Michelle Agyemang, face similar setbacks. High risks of such injuries are especially prevalent among women.
Tottenham Hotspur announced that forward Jessica Naz has been sidelined for the remainder of the season due to an anterior cruciate ligament tear in her right knee sustained during Sunday's Women's Super League match against Aston Villa. The team's medical staff will oversee her rehabilitation.
Naz, who debuted for England last year, had previously been out for 18 months following another ACL injury in 2019. She has since undergone surgery and is receiving full support from her club. She is the second WSL player this season, including Arsenal's Katie Reid, to suffer a similar injury.
England's Michelle Agyemang is also out after an ACL rupture. Recent research from Coventry University highlights the heightened risk of severe knee injuries, particularly among women, tied to insufficient mastery of basic physical skills at a young age.
