In a significant move for the Olympic movement in India, the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) has announced the reactivation of the National Olympic Academy (NOA) in Ahmedabad. Renowned sprinter PT Usha has been appointed as the President, leading efforts in Olympic education and athlete development.

A new initiative, the National Olympic Education and Development Programme (NOEDP), will also be introduced to provide a structured framework for Olympic education nationwide. This programme aims to deliver extensive education and development resources across India's Olympic ecosystem in collaboration with National Sports Federations (NSFs) and State Olympic Associations (SOAs).

The IOA emphasizes its commitment to athlete-centric growth and governance improvements. The reactivated NOA will facilitate not only educational advancements but also a direct engagement with athletes, boosting their leadership skills and understanding of Olympic values. This initiative aligns with global best practices in partnership with the International Olympic Academy.
