Indian skeet shooters were unable to reach the finals at the ISSF World Cup Shotgun, with Olympians Mairaj Ahmad Khan and Raiza Dhillon finishing highest among them. Despite strong efforts, all competitors fell short, with the men's best being 18th place and women's best at 17th place.
In a display of perseverance, Indian skeet shooters were met with disappointment as none reached the finals in the ISSF World Cup Shotgun held on Tuesday. Both the men's and women's teams gave commendable performances but ultimately fell short of securing a spot in the finals.
Olympian Mairaj Ahmad Khan, who began the event in 26th place, climbed up to 18th after completing his series with scores of 23 and 25. His final tally of 119 was the top Indian performance in the men's event. Close on his heels, Bhavtegh Singh Gill matched Khan's total but settled for 19th place.
In the women's segment, Raiza Dhillon was the highest-ranking Indian shooter, finishing in 17th place with a score of 115. Despite the setback, the Indian team remains determined for future competitions where they aim to convert skill into podium finishes.
