Tata Electronics Partners with Tokyo Electron for India's First Chip Fab
Tata Electronics has signed an MoU with Tokyo Electron to acquire equipment and services for its new semiconductor chip units in Gujarat and Assam. The agreement includes training and R&D initiatives. The facilities will produce chips for various applications, supported by a Rs 118,000 crore investment.

Tata Electronics has entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Tokyo Electron to purchase equipment and services for its upcoming semiconductor chip units in Gujarat and Assam.
The agreement between the two companies also encompasses training Tata's workforce on Tokyo Electron's equipment and supporting ongoing research and development initiatives.
'TEL's expertise in the semiconductor equipment field will help build a dynamic ecosystem for our Fab and advanced packaging factories,' stated Tata Electronics CEO Randhir Thakur.
