L&T Secures Key French Nuclear Fusion Project Order

Larsen & Toubro (L&T) announced on Friday that it has received a significant order from the global ITER Organization for deploying cutting-edge welding technologies at its nuclear fusion project in Cadarache, Southern France. The project's value ranges between Rs 1,000 crore and Rs 2,500 crore, a financial bracket L&T defines as significant.
The recent deal involves L&T leveraging advanced technologies to assemble crucial components, including ports and complex parts within the ITER Tokamak's vacuum vessel. Central to the project is the Memorandum of Understanding that L&T signed with the ITER Organization, emphasizing technical collaboration.
The ITER Organization, an international body, is focused on proving the scientific and technological viability of fusion energy for peaceful purposes. The organization includes members such as India, the EU, Japan, South Korea, Russia, China, and the United States.
