The burgeoning semiconductor sector in India has reached a new milestone with Union Minister for Electronics and IT Ashwini Vaishnaw inaugurating ARM's new facility in Bengaluru. The British semiconductor firm is set to design advanced two-nanometer chips, propelling India further on the global technology map.

Minister Vaishnaw attributed the rapid progress in the semiconductor industry to India's stable and visionary policy framework under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership since 2014. ARM, a pivotal company in the semiconductor landscape, designs chips integral to mobile phones, servers, and myriad products.

The semiconductor mission, launched in 2022, supports 278 educational institutions, nurturing talent for the evolving ecosystem. With ten units under construction and significant investments through the India DeepTech Fund, India's ambitious plans include expanding electronic exports and manufacturing capabilities, now valued at Rs 11.5 lakh crore.
