Piyush Goyal Discusses Trade Expansion with Italy, UK, and Germany at G7 Meeting

Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal convened with Italian Deputy Prime Minister Antonio Tajani during the G7 Trade Ministers' Meeting in Italy to deliberate on enhancing bilateral cooperation in investments, start-ups, and energy. Goyal congratulated Tajani for successfully hosting the summit.
Goyal, participating in the outreach session of the G7 Trade Ministers' Meeting scheduled for July 16-17, is utilizing this visit to showcase the immense trade and investment prospects that India proffers. In a social media post, he expressed enthusiasm about furthering bilateral trade with Italy.
In addition, Goyal met with the UK's Secretary of State for Business and Trade to discuss reinforcing bilateral economic relations and advancing ongoing FTA negotiations. They aim to conclude a mutually beneficial agreement. He also held discussions with German Minister Robert Habeck on amplifying the Indo-German trade and economic partnership ahead of significant international events.
Prior to Italy, Goyal visited Switzerland on July 14-15. The focus there was to discuss next steps for implementing the India-EFTA Trade and Economic Partnership Agreement (TEPA), which envisages substantial investment and job creation in India over the next 15 years.
