Poland Expedites F-16 Jet Deliveries to Ukraine Amid Russian Airstrikes

President Volodymyr Zelenskiy announced on Friday that Poland has taken a crucial decision to expedite the delivery of vital F-16 jets to Ukraine. Although the specifics were not disclosed, this move is expected to bolster Ukraine's air defence capabilities.

Poland, which shares a border with Ukraine and has been a steadfast wartime ally, has not committed its own F-16 jets for the cause. A source close to Poland's defence ministry indicated that the decision pertains to logistical issues, particularly the transport arrangements for jets from other supporting countries.

Kyiv is eagerly awaiting its first F-16s to enhance its air defence against sustained Russian airstrikes. The U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken recently confirmed that the first jets from Denmark and the Netherlands are already en route to Ukraine.
