Brazilian Airline Voepass Grounded Amid Safety Concerns
Brazilian aviation regulator ANAC has suspended Voepass operations due to safety concerns. Following a deadly crash, Voepass filed for debt restructuring. ANAC found trust breaches in Voepass' internal processes, leading to suspension. The airline is working to prove compliance with safety standards.
Brazil's aviation body ANAC has suspended regional airline Voepass' operations, citing severe safety concerns. This decision follows a tragic crash that claimed 62 lives last year, prompting Voepass to embark on a debt restructuring process that might result in bankruptcy protection.
After a thorough investigation, ANAC observed a 'breach of trust' in Voepass' management and discovered safety irregularities, resulting in a temporary halt to its services. Despite these allegations, Voepass insists its fleet is airworthy and adheres to stringent safety protocols.
The suspension is also backed by Brazil's ports and airports ministry, which seeks to enhance safety and governance within the airline operations sector. Voepass now faces the challenge of proving it can meet the required safety regulations to resume service.
