Ukrainian drone strikes in Russia's southern Rostov region have resulted in the death of one individual, fires, and the halt of train services at a local station, Russian officials announced on Tuesday.

The Russian defense ministry reported that overnight defense units successfully downed 74 drones, including 22 over the Rostov area. The strikes in Salsk caused a fatality when a car was hit, as noted by Rostov's acting governor, Yuri Slyusar, on Telegram.

A freight train caught fire, and power disruptions caused train traffic to be suspended in Salsk, according to Russia's Railways. Reuters has yet to verify the report independently, and Ukraine, often citing its attacks as retaliation against Russian strikes, has not yet issued a statement.
