India and Oman Finalize Landmark Trade Deal Amid Growing Global Partnerships
India and Oman have successfully concluded negotiations for a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement, further strengthening their historic relations. Though the agreement's signing date remains undisclosed, it highlights India's expanding global trade network, having signed several key deals and engaging in ongoing negotiations with multiple countries.

India and Oman have wrapped up discussions on a significant trade agreement, Minister of State for Commerce and Industry Jitin Prasada revealed to the Rajya Sabha. This trade deal underscores the deep-rooted ties between the nations, originating from mutual trust and strategic cooperation dating back to the mid-20th century.
Despite the mutual conclusion of the India-Oman Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), the exact timeline for its signing remains undisclosed. Emphasizing India’s diligent expansion in global trade, Prasada noted that the nation recently sealed five major Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) and continues to advance several other negotiations.
Over the past five years, India has finalized significant agreements, including deals with Mauritius, the UAE, Australia, and the UK, among others. Looking forward, India is negotiating with the EU, Australia, and the United States to further bolster its international trade portfolio.
