Strengthening Ties: India's Bilateral Trade and Investment Push with Singapore

Piyush Goyal, India's Commerce and Industry Minister, embarked on a strategic three-day visit to Singapore, where he engaged with business leaders and government officials in a bid to enhance bilateral trade and investments.
During his visit, Goyal emphasized India's robust growth trajectory characterized by investment-driven reforms, presenting a wealth of opportunities in sectors such as manufacturing, infrastructure, financial services, and the green economy, according to an official statement released on Friday.
In meetings with Singapore's Prime Minister Lawrence Wong and Deputy Prime Minister Gan Kim Yong, discussions revolved around deepening industrial and trade cooperation, fostering innovation and digital connectivity, and exploring joint sustainable development initiatives. Talks also highlighted the rapid expansion of India's Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) sector and a proposed India-Singapore Skilling Centre.
