In a bid to alleviate the challenges faced by passengers due to disruptions in IndiGo flights, Air India Group is ramping up its capacity and setting caps on economy class airfares. This strategic move aims to ease the impact on travelers.
As part of this initiative, both Air India and Air India Express have proactively placed caps on fares for non-stop domestic flights, countering the typical demand-and-supply pricing methods facilitated by revenue management systems. This decisive action follows the government's recent introduction of similar airfare caps.
Despite these efforts, Air India highlighted the technical complexities in uniformly applying fare caps across all flight permutations. Nonetheless, the group remains committed to adding capacity, ensuring swift travel solutions for passengers and their baggage.
