In a significant legislative move, the Lok Sabha has approved the establishment of Tribhuvan Sahkari University in Anand, Gujarat. The initiative aims to equip the co-operative sector with skilled manpower and address its training deficits.
Named after Tribhuvandas Kishibhai Patel, a key figure in India's cooperative movement and the founder of Amul, this institution is poised to resolve long-standing capacity-building issues through standardized education and research frameworks.
The university's inception comes as a response to the inadequacies of current training infrastructures in meeting the demand for qualified personnel within the sector, an issue addressed during the bill's debate by Cooperation Minister Amit Shah.
