Over 50 others, many of whom were children and adults, were hospitalized with burns, as confirmed by a doctor from the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery.
The catastrophe occurred at Milestone School and College in the northern area of Uttara, officials reported. The Bangladesh Air Force's F-7 BGI training aircraft, which had taken off at 13:06 (0706 GMT), went down, the military's public relations department confirmed. Video footage showed the aftermath, with devastating fire and smoke as firefighters worked on the scene.
According to witnesses, a disturbing scene unfolded as the damaged aircraft rammed into a building, leaving a gaping hole. The interim government led by Muhammad Yunus assured that necessary measures would be undertaken to investigate the crash's cause and provide comprehensive assistance. This incident follows a recent air crash in India, marking a period of significant aviation tragedies.
