In a heated assembly session, Maharashtra's Mukhyamantri Vidyarthi Vigyan Vari scheme came under scrutiny. Treasury bench members questioned the scheme's financial policies, as they aim to foster scientific curiosity among students.

School Education Minister Dada Bhuse highlighted objections from the Finance and Planning Department, led by Deputy CM Ajit Pawar, particularly regarding the boost in prize money from Rs 5,000 to Rs 51,000. Concerns linger that this could lead parents to outsource student projects.

Despite Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis's approval in June 2025, final funding for educational visits to organizations like NASA is still undecided. The scheme, requiring an annual budget of Rs 3 crore, is anticipated to enhance scientific engagement among students.
