Two students from Indira Gandhi Medical College have been suspended for allegedly violating hostel regulations, according to an announcement made by the institute on Sunday.
The breach occurred when two second-year students invited juniors to a hostel room, despite not having an allocated accommodation.
After a deliberation, the college's disciplinary committee decided on a Rs 50,000 fine for each student and confirmed that the incident did not involve ragging.
