Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has openly criticized Union Minister H D Kumaraswamy, labeling him a 'Manuvadi' after his political alliance with the BJP, which sparked controversy over curriculum changes in schools.
The criticism came in response to Kumaraswamy's letter to Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, advocating for the inclusion of the Bhagavad Gita in school curricula, a move seen as aligning with more traditional Hindu values.
Siddaramaiah also paid tribute to B R Ambedkar, highlighting his contribution to the Indian Constitution and his adoption of Buddhism due to his disenchantment with the Hindu caste system.
