Amid significant labor shortages following its war in Ukraine, Russia has introduced a new digital platform designed to attract foreign skilled workers. The Russian foreign ministry announced the service in an X social media post on Wednesday.
The initiative, named 'Time to live in Russia,' targets foreigners possessing in-demand skills who also show alignment with what are termed 'traditional Russian values.' The program seeks to mitigate the ongoing outflow of Russian workers and the diversion of labor to the military and defense sectors.
Despite the service's intended benefits, initial technical issues surfaced as users attempting to access more details encountered an error message. Eligible candidates include scientists, entrepreneurs, and creative professionals, who must navigate a rigorous 125-day application process.
