Lokpal Rejects Plea Against PM Modi, Jairam Ramesh Slams Decision

The Lokpal has rejected a plea seeking to investigate Prime Minister Narendra Modi over his remarks regarding Congress allegedly receiving funds from Mukesh Ambani and Gautam Adani. Jairam Ramesh took to social media on Friday to question the accountability of the Prime Minister.

Jairam Ramesh stated, "Who will hold the self-anointed non-biological Prime Minister accountable for the web of deceit he weaves?" He reiterated the demand for an Enforcement Directorate (ED) and Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into the claims made by Modi on May 8, 2024.

The remarks in question were made by PM Modi during the Lok Sabha election campaign in Telangana's Karimnagar, where he questioned the Congress's financial dealings with Ambani and Adani. The Lokpal dismissed the plea, labeling the speech as election propaganda based on fictional facts.
