In a significant push for industrial growth, Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has instructed officials to expedite the development of the greenfield 'pharma city' on the outskirts of Hyderabad. The directive came following an extensive meeting with state IT and Industries Minister D Sridhar Babu and top officials on Monday, according to an official release from the Chief Minister's office.

Key attendees at the meeting included Chief Secretary Santhi Kumari, Special Chief Secretary to Industries Department Jayesh Ranjan, TGIIC MD Vishnuvardhan Reddy, Adviser to CM Vem Narender Reddy, and Principal Secretary to CM Seshadri. The Chief Minister emphasized the inclusion of the latest global technology in developing the pharma city at the already designated Mucharla area, within Rangareddy and Mahabubnagar districts.

The Chief Minister urged the authorities to ensure a pollution-free environment and avoid any inconvenience to nearby residents. He highlighted the importance of developing essential infrastructure such as roads, water supply, electricity, and drainage. Additionally, Revanth Reddy pointed out that several renowned pharma companies are keen to invest, and plans are underway to establish the city as a hub for antibiotics, synthetic drugs, and biotech companies.

The proposed pharma city is expected to be a center for research and development with the establishment of a special university focused on training and skills in the healthcare and pharma sectors. The Chief Minister also recommended introducing specialized courses to boost employment opportunities. Furthermore, he instructed officials to engage local people and farmers, affected by land acquisitions, as stakeholders in the project.
