Launched on December 7, 2024, the 100-day Intensified TB-Mukt Bharat Abhiyan has achieved significant milestones, with the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare reporting over 5.1 lakh tuberculosis notifications across India. This ambitious initiative, spearheaded by Union Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda, focuses on early detection of TB through innovative strategies including the use of hand-held X-rays and targeted population screening to identify at-risk groups.

The campaign has notified over 3.5 lakh TB patients across 455 districts, screening more than 10 crore vulnerable individuals. Efforts to reduce diagnostic delays and identify drug-resistant TB cases have involved both public and private healthcare sectors. To enhance outreach, over 10 lakh Ni-kshay Shivirs were organized and 836 Ni-kshay Vahans deployed, ensuring access to even the most remote areas.

In a comprehensive government effort, coordination meetings have been held with state leaders and senior officials, emphasizing community participation through initiatives like Ni-kshay Shapaths. This grassroots approach has engaged over 2.4 lakh Ni-kshay Mitras offering nutritional and psychosocial support, demonstrating India's robust commitment towards its goal of eliminating TB by systematically breaking transmission chains and reducing TB mortality.
