The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has announced that it will not cancel the recent Selection Post Phase 13 examination, despite widespread protests over mismanagement. Instead, the commission is considering retests for candidates who claim they were denied a "fair chance." Chairman S Gopalakrishnan confirmed this decision amid public outcry.
The SSC faced significant backlash due to technical glitches and administrative errors during the exam window from July 24 to August 1. Over 5 lakh candidates were affected by issues such as abrupt cancellations, software failures, and erroneous center allotments, prompting protests in Delhi.
The commission's letter to the exam vendor, Eduquity Career Technologies, demands a resolution to these issues immediately. Additional tests on August 2 saw limited attendance, with plans for further re-tests if needed. While admitting "teething problems," Gopalakrishnan maintains confidence in the vendor, noting improvements in their service.
