Maharashtra's Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde affirmed on Friday that the Mahayuti alliance is set to contest upcoming elections unitedly at local and state levels. He emphasized that their campaign is grounded on the government's development work over the past three and a half years.
Addressing concerns over seat-sharing within the alliance, Shinde acknowledged the many aspirants but assured that efforts would be made to accommodate them appropriately. In a strategic meeting alongside Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and other senior leaders, the Mahayuti resolved to contest elections in key municipalities such as Mumbai and Thane together.
The electoral contest is expected to see Mahayuti facing off against the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi. Furthermore, responding to criticism, Shinde announced protections for tenants under the pagdi system, aiming for fair redevelopment and highlighting the alliance's commitment to addressing public issues.
