Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Friday praised the 3rd International Kite Festival as a significant cultural event that unites people and embodies Delhi's festive spirit. "Delhi is known for its festivals, and today's event in Bansera Park showcases that magnificently," Gupta told reporters.
Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena emphasized future expansions, promising that subsequent festivals will be spectacular and renowned globally, enhancing tourism and job creation opportunities. "The foundation laid today will ensure Delhi's Kite Festival gains worldwide fame," Saxena declared, signaling plans for more expansive events.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah inaugurated the festival, advocating for Delhi as the national kite festival hub. He urged the local government and DDA to enhance the event through public engagement, envisioning it as a grand national celebration. Quoting Kalidasa, Shah stressed festivals' power to unify India.
