In a concerted operation by the Women and Child Development Department, authorities have rescued six minors from begging at a railway station located in Thane district, Maharashtra. The rescue was conducted after receiving a complaint about the situation.
Upon inspection, officials discovered four boys and two girls, all between the ages of 6 and 10, engaged in begging activities at Mira Road Railway Station. The minors were immediately taken to safety.
The department has reaffirmed its dedication to the 'child beggar-free campaign' throughout the district, emphasizing the illegality of forcing or encouraging children to beg under any circumstance.
