Karnataka Chief Minister DK Shivakumar declared on Saturday that the turmoil surrounding senior Congress figure Ramalinga Reddy's resignation from the newly formed cabinet has been resolved. Shivakumar described Reddy as a "friend" and urged the media and political commentators to desist from circulating unfounded rumors.
Reddy, who resigned from his ministerial post just two days after the cabinet's inauguration, reaffirmed his commitment to remaining with the Congress party, with which he has been associated for over fifty years. Shivakumar confirmed the issue is settled, stressing the importance of focusing on collaborative politics that benefit the state.
Additionally, Karnataka Home Minister Priyank Kharge expressed confidence that the party will address concerns through internal discussions. Meanwhile, AICC co-incharge Abhishek Dutt commended Reddy for his contributions, particularly the Shakti scheme that offers free travel for women across Karnataka, positioning the Congress party as one that delivers on promises.
