The Bilaspur district of Himachal Pradesh is launching its annual pulse polio campaign with a mission to vaccinate 27,037 children in the first phase commencing on December 21. According to officials, comprehensive instructions have been disseminated to chief medical officers to ensure extensive coverage.
Deputy Commissioner Rahul Kumar emphasized the robust infrastructure established for the campaign, citing the creation of 275 Pulse Polio booths across the district. Complementing these efforts, 544 dedicated teams have been organized, along with the deployment of 64 supervisors to oversee the operations.
In addition to the stationary booths, the administration has set up eight transit sites to facilitate vaccinations for children who are on the move, ensuring every child receives the crucial immunization. This coordinated initiative underscores the district's commitment to eradicating polio.
