A significant explosion ripped through a wall of the CRPF school in Rohini's Prashant Vihar on Sunday morning, prompting national investigative agencies to probe the cause. The blast sent shockwaves across the capital, sparking a high alert from local police forces.
Initial investigations suggest the blast was the result of a crude, low-intensity improvised explosive device (IED), reportedly controlled with a timer or remote, causing no injuries due to its minimal intensity. Authorities suspect the incident may have been designed to send a message, though no group has claimed responsibility.
The incident follows a series of bomb threats aimed at airlines recently. In response, officials from the National Investigation Agency (NIA), National Security Guard (NSG), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), and Delhi Police were deployed to secure the area and gather forensic evidence. Samples of the explosive material are under analysis as probing continues.
