At the event themed 'Leveraging on Technology within the Judiciary,' Justice Gavai expressed concerns about content creators and YouTubers editing court clips to create out-of-context portrayals, potentially leading to misinformation and intellectual property issues.
He elaborated on how technology has advanced judicial efficiency worldwide, but warned of the ethical dilemmas and risks associated with AI in legal research, including fabricated case citations. He emphasized the need for technology to support, not replace, human judgment in the judiciary.
