In a significant operation, Manipur Police have rescued two underage girls allegedly recruited by the banned militant outfit, People's Liberation Army (PLA). According to an official statement released on Tuesday, the minors were saved from Kakching Bazaar in Kakching district and Wangbal Laikon in Thoubal district.

On the same day, police detained two PLA cadres responsible for recruiting the girls, identified as Moirangthem Romen Singh, aged 23, and Nongmaithem Mohendro Singh, aged 54. Continuing their crackdown, authorities arrested two members of the banned Kangleipak Communist Party from Imphal West district and seized several grenades.

In a coordinated effort, Assam Rifles and the army dismantled a temporary camp of the militant group United Kuki National Army (UKNA) in Churachandpur district, further crippling militant operations. This extensive operation underscores security forces' commitment to maintaining peace in the region.
