Tension Escalates: Israeli Air Strike Hits Damascus
Israel conducted an air strike on Thursday targeting an alleged command centre of the Palestinian militant group, Islamic Jihad, in Damascus. Despite military claims, the group denies the building was used for militant activities, calling it an empty house. Casualties remain unclear.
On Thursday, Israel launched an air strike on Damascus, focusing on what the military identified as a command centre for Islamic Jihad, a Palestinian militant faction. The military asserted the site coordinated 'terrorist activities' against Israel.
A brief video from the military depicts an explosion by a building's edge, followed by smoke. The command centre allegedly orchestrated operations against Israel by Islamic Jihad.
Islamic Jihad's spokesperson Muhammad al-Haj Musa contested these claims, stating on Telegram that it was an unoccupied building. Two Syrian security sources suggested the target was a Palestinian individual. Casualty reports are pending. Syria's state news agency placed the building on Damascus's fringe.
