The Delhi High Court has mandated Jammu and Kashmir MP Abdul Rashid Sheikh to deposit a sum of Rs 4 lakh to cover travel expenses for attending parliamentary sessions.
Despite financial challenges, Sheikh must meet these expenses by a court-ordered deadline. The High Court seeks to balance Rashid’s parliamentary duties with his legal proceedings by allowing him custodial attendance till April 4.
Amid opposition from the NIA, which claims potential misuse of the platform, the High Court entrusted parliamentary decorum to the Lok Sabha speaker, ensuring legislative discipline. This decision comes as Rashid faces a trial related to terror funding charges.
