Fake Currency Racket Busted in Bhiwandi

Police in Bhiwandi have seized counterfeit Indian currency with a face value exceeding Rs 45 lakh and arrested six individuals. The fake notes were printed at a transport company's office, and authorities have confiscated several pieces of printing equipment. The investigation is ongoing.

Bhiwandi police made a significant breakthrough, seizing counterfeit Indian currency notes worth over Rs 45 lakh in a well-coordinated operation. Six individuals have been arrested, as confirmed by Deputy Commissioner of Police (crime) Amarsingh Jadhav.

The fake notes, printed at a transport office in Bhiwandi, were discovered following a tip-off. On May 3, the crime branch team intercepted Rs 30 lakh in Rs 500 denomination notes from three individuals: Suraj Tanaji Shende, Bharat Valku Sase, and Swapnil Jagdish Patil.

Subsequently, on May 5, authorities apprehended Ramdas Shalik Dalvi, Vijay Karnekar alias Vicky, and Shekar Ramdas Battin, seizing additional counterfeit currency valued at Rs 15.5 lakh. Equipment, including a laptop and printer, was confiscated from the printing site. An investigation is currently underway.
