In a decisive move to address the long-standing grievances of terror victim families, the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha, has announced the creation of a special cell alongside a toll-free number to expedite their assistance.
Sinha, in a high-level meeting, instructed deputy commissioners and senior superintendents of police to revisit terror cases that had been intentionally neglected in the past. Emphasizing justice, he ensured that families would receive the necessary support and jobs for next of kin where applicable.
The initiative comes in light of historic injustices faced by Kashmiri civilians, often forgotten and unacknowledged. Sinha has pledged to bring the perpetrators to book and recover properties seized by terrorists or their sympathizers.
