In a significant development in the land-for-jobs case, Rabri Devi's counsel argued before a special court that no tangible connection exists between the acquisition of land and the allocation of jobs. The case implicates RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav and former Bihar Chief Minister Rabri Devi.
Senior advocate Maninder Singh, representing Rabri Devi, emphasized the absence of quid pro quo in transactions related to the acquisition of land. He questioned the CBI's allegations that Devi benefited from these transactions, highlighting the presence of sale deeds and transactions conducted for monetary needs.
The court continues to probe allegations that during Yadav's tenure as railway minister, Group-D appointments in the Railways' West Central Zone were exchanged for land parcels transferred within his family's circle. With arguments ongoing, the legal battle is slated to continue.
