The Central Public Works Department (CPWD) has announced a tender to install bullet-resistant glass in the chambers of External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri at Jawaharlal Nehru Bhawan, Delhi.
The ambitious project, estimated at Rs 2.64 crore, is scheduled for completion within two months. The CPWD has stipulated rigorous testing and security protocols, requiring the glass be tested at top laboratories and maintained meticulously during installation.
The contractor, yet to be finalized, will ensure quality and security, adhering to authorized architectural plans. The agency warns contractors to prepare for stringent site security, as the Bhawan lies in a restricted area, necessitating proper passes for vehicle movement.
