Aanganwadi workers have been tasked with assisting in the verification of burqa-clad voters at polling booths across Bihar during the imminent Assembly elections, announced Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. With clear guidelines set by the Election Commission, Kumar ensured that identity verification will be rigorously executed.
Responding to inquiries regarding the identification of women wearing ghungat and burqa during the polls, Kumar reaffirmed the presence of a robust system within polling stations. The committed involvement of Aanganwadi workers highlights an effort to maintain transparent and efficient electoral processes.
The Bihar elections, held across 243 assembly constituencies, are scheduled in two phases: November 6 and November 11, with the counting of votes slated for November 14. Bihar BJP president Dilip Jaiswal earlier advocated for stricter verification protocols for women voters at the booths.
