Two Mumbai residents, Rizwan Momin and Irfan Shaikh, have filed for a discharge in a Pakistan-supported terror module case, arguing that the prosecution lacks concrete evidence of their involvement in any actual terror activities.
The duo, a teacher and a tailor, respectively, were arrested following the capture of Zakir Husain by the Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) in September 2021. Husain's alleged plan had links to Pakistan, as noted during his interrogation.
While Husain remains in custody, both Momin and Shaikh are currently out on bail. The court has instructed the prosecution to respond to their discharge plea by December 10.
