It was impossible for Hungary to accept and implement a European Union decision on phasing out Russian energy imports as it endangers the country's energy security, Hungary's Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto said on Wednesday in a briefing.
Szijjarto also said that Hungary and Slovakia will start legal proceedings against the decision at the Court of Justice of the European Union as soon as it is finalized.
Earlier on Wednesday the European Union agreed to phase out Russian gas imports by late 2027 as part of an effort to end the bloc's decade-long dependency on Russian energy.
