Karnataka Home Minister G Parameshwara has announced a resolute campaign against drug trafficking, involving decisive actions such as demolishing properties linked to foreign nationals in the narcotics trade, in a bid to eliminate the drug menace from the state.
In response to Congress MLC K Abdul Jabbar's inquiry in the legislative council about the escalating drug issues in Bengaluru and other districts, the minister outlined a comprehensive plan including increased enforcement and strategic initiatives since the Congress government's term began.
The efforts have included deporting 300 individuals, targeting landlords housing offenders, and destroying drugs worth over Rs 200 crore. A newly formed Anti-Narcotics Task Force, unique to the state, has also been mobilized to combat the drug threat effectively across Karnataka.
