Diplomatic tensions have escalated between Bangladesh and India over the extradition of Sheikh Hasina, the deposed Bangladeshi prime minister, currently residing in India. Bangladesh's Foreign Ministry summoned Indian High Commissioner Pranay Verma to express grave concerns over Hasina's provocative statements.
Sheikh Hasina, who fled to India following the overthrow of her government by violent protests, has been sentenced to death by a Bangladeshi tribunal for crimes against humanity. Bangladesh demands her immediate extradition alongside former Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal.
With general elections approaching, Bangladesh accuses other exiled Awami League members in India of plotting to disrupt the political process. In response, India has been urged to take swift action. Meanwhile, the situation in Bangladesh remains tense, with security efforts heightened following recent violence.
