The Russian Security Council deputy chairman, Dmitry Medvedev, recently announced that 422,704 people signed contracts with the Russian Armed Forces last year, as state agencies reported.
This figure indicates a decrease from 2024, when approximately 450,000 people enlisted. Medvedev was addressing a meeting of security officials on drone technology, with footage shared by Russian news agencies.
During his December news conference, President Vladimir Putin highlighted a significant rise in drone operator recruitment for 2025. Medvedev further shared that 32,000 individuals joined volunteer brigades to fight in Ukraine last year.
