In a confidential court submission revealed by Reuters, Apple indicated the financial repercussions could reach up to $38 billion. Apple contends it has challenged the entirety of the antitrust penalty law in an Indian court, hence arguing the competition body should refrain from enforcing financial submission requests.
The court case in India is one of several global antitrust challenges faced by Apple, as the company holds a modest but growing share of the Indian smartphone market, predominantly occupied by Google's Android system.
