Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has introduced a set of innovative measures aimed at conserving fuel and promoting sustainable practices within the government sector. On Thursday, she declared two days of 'work from home' for government employees, encouraged the use of Metro trains on Mondays, and proposed a voluntary 'no-vehicle day' every week.

Gupta detailed the initiatives during a press conference, highlighting the comprehensive plan under 'Mera Bharat, Mera Yogdan,' which aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's appeal for prudent fuel use amid global economic challenges. The measures include slashing the petrol and diesel quotas of government officers by 20% and suspending official foreign visits.

These moves come after Gupta met with Cabinet ministers and senior officers to address the urgent need for resource conservation. Further, Gupta has reduced her own vehicle convoy significantly, demonstrating leadership by example in response to ongoing conflicts affecting global energy supplies.
