Samajwadi Party MP Dimple Yadav has criticized the Union Budget, asserting that political considerations have influenced the allocation of special packages to states like Bihar and Andhra Pradesh. Speaking to ANI, Yadav noted that without political motives, these states would not have received their special financial support.

Yadav emphasized that Uttar Pradesh, despite its overwhelming support for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in consecutive elections, was overlooked for any special package. 'UP has consecutively given so many seats to the BJP. Never in history has any single party won so many seats from UP. UP should have been given a special package from the center's funds,' she stated.

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, in her budget speech, announced various infrastructure projects for Bihar, including industrial nodes, expressways, and a new power plant, totaling Rs 26,000 crore in investment. Andhra Pradesh was also promised Rs 15,000 crore in support, fulfilling commitments under the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act.

Additionally, the budget outlined new airports, medical colleges, and sports infrastructure developments in Bihar, along with an Rs 11,500 crore allocation for flood control measures. The opposition, including prominent figures like Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi, protested the budget, claiming it was discriminatory.
