Several hundred Madhya Pradesh Congress workers on Friday staged a protest against rising prices, unemployment, and other pressing issues, attempting to march to the official residence of Chief Minister Mohan Yadav. Police intervened using water cannons and tear gas to disperse the demonstrators.
MP Congress chief Jitu Patwari, who was thrown off a barricade by the force of a water cannon, reported that he sustained minor injuries. He noted that around 100 to 200 protesters were also injured and are currently in the hospital.
The protesters included notable figures such as Leader of Opposition Umang Singhar, former Union minister Arun Yadav, and Youth Congress leaders Srinivas BV and Mitendra Darshan Singh. Despite police efforts to halt the demonstration, Congress leaders vowed to continue their campaign, criticizing the BJP government for failing on multiple fronts.
