Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan met with Pakistan's Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in Islamabad on Thursday to deliberate on the ongoing situation in Gaza. The meeting also aimed at enhancing bilateral relations between Turkey and Pakistan.

In a show of solidarity and cooperation, the leaders indicated their commitment to signing several agreements to boost trade and economic ties. Erdogan received a warm welcome as he left his hotel under tight security. The city's roads were adorned with Turkish and Pakistani flags, and crowds in traditional attire celebrated with dance and music as his convoy passed by.

Upon his arrival at the Prime Minister's office, Erdogan and his wife, Emine, were met by Prime Minister Sharif. The occasion was marked by a ceremonial greeting, including the national anthems of both countries and a guard of honour. Both leaders will co-chair strategic cooperation talks, with expectations set for multiple agreements, according to a government statement.
